滝夜叉姫　Takiyasha-hime (Princess Takiyasha)

The head of a samurai clan, Taira no Masakado, had committed an act of treason and was killed for it. His only surviving daughter, Princess Satsuki, had gone to Kifune shrine to offer prayer and train to be able to use the sorcery necessary to avenge her father. The wrathful spirit of the shrine bestowed these powers upon the Princess, and she took on the name Takiyasha.

The Princess then settled in Shimofusa Province and set about amassing a large army to defy Imperial rule and wage war upon the Emperor.

Learning of this plan, the Imperial court sent the vice-admiral and powerful exorcist Mitsukuni to quell the Princess’ rebellion.
